Kylie Jenner shot up U.S. Twitter trends today as an unreleased and leaked collaboration from “Toosie Slide” singer Drake and “Life Is Good” rapper Future saw the 22-year-old billionaire called Drake’s “side-piece.” The digital space is now flooded with buzz about the makeup mogul and Canadian rapper, with Drake having since issued a “no disrespect” apology. Here’s what went down.
Drake’s leaked lyrics read:
“Yeah, I’m a hater to society / Real s–t, Kylie Jenner that’s a side piece / Yeah, I got 20 motherf—-in’ Kylies.”
The Grammy-winning rapper didn’t stop there, though, continuing with lyrics that also name-dropped Kylie’s 24-year-old sister Kendall Jenner, plus pregnant supermodel Gigi Hadid: “Yeah, I got 20 damn Kendalls / Young slim baddies and them in vogue / Yeah, I got 20 f—-in’ Gigis.”
Twitter, which last night saw “The Masked Singer” topping trends, had the youngest KarJenner ranking third as the news broke, although Kylie remained silent on Instagram, with her Wednesday bikini video promoting sunscreen for her 2019-founded Kylie Skin brand since racking up insane views that now sit at over 19 million.
Drake then took to Instagram with an apology, although he did not specify to whom it was directed, writing that the leaked music should never have been released to the public.
“A song that Mark ran last night on night owl sound live set shouldn’t have been played. It’s a song that leaked 3 years ago and got scrapped shortly after. He was going too keep in the drake/future catalogue,” he wrote, adding:
“Last thing I would want to do is wake up having any friends of mine feeling disrespected so I just had to say that to start off the day.”
Kylie’s fans are largely assuming that the apology was, in part, directed to her, but mostly towards ex and rapper baby daddy Travis Scott. The 29-year-old “Astroworld” star split from Kylie in 2019, with the former couple co-parenting their 2-year-old daughter Stormi Webster.
Kylie and Drake have fueled romance rumors in the past. 2019 saw the “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star attend the rapper’s 33rd birthday party, with a source at the time reporting to Us Weekly stating: ‘They have known each other and been friends for a very long time and there has always been a spark there, but their situation is complicated and so is Kylie’s with Travis.”
Kylie is reported to be in quarantine with Travis in her new $36.5 million mansion, having shouted out her baby daddy on April 30 for his birthday. Drake, meanwhile, has been dominating COVID-19 headlines with his “Toosie Slide” track, now the basis for thousands of TikTok challenge videos.
Twitter reactions were mixed, with one user writing:
“No drake you got it all wrong you were Kylie Jenner’s side bitch lmao.”
“Wooooow @Drake you’re dirty. Ew. Men that talk about woman that they probably never even touched are disgusting. @KylieJenner is a mother, be better for your son. Nasty *ss. Kylie you a bad b*tch let them,” another said.
