Jada Pinkett-Smith’s headline-making affair reveal has landed her a new record for her “Red Table Talk” show. The 48-year-old is currently fronting media outlets for admitting she had a relationship with rapper August Alsina as she opened up to “Men In Black” actor husband Will on her Facebook Watch show. The episode has now broken records for drawing in over 15.4 million views in 24 hours, per Entertainment Weekly.

Jada’s relationship with August came during a period she and Will – married since 1997 – were separated. The “Red Table Talk” episode, now viewed far more times than the series’ prior record featuring model Jordyn Woods in February 2019, has also been remarked on by the masses on social media – particularly, for it coming off as awkward. Likewise, for the run-up to it sparking suggestions that the power couple was in an open marriage. In an interview, August insinuated that Will had given “permission.”

“We decided we were going to separate for a period of time and you go figure out how to make yourself happy and I will go figure out how to make myself happy,” Jada said. The star confirmed that she had entered into a relationship with August on a platonic level to begin with, with it then turning romantic as she described getting into an “entanglement.” Will then pressed his wife to outline what that “entanglement” meant. Jada confirmed an affair.

Will reacted.

“I was done with your a**, but marriages have that, though. We decided that we were going to separate for a period of time and you go figure out a way to make yourself happy and I’ll figure out how to make myself happy.”

Jada got into a relationship with Alsina during a period seeing both his mental and physical health suffer. Jada, meanwhile, stated that feeling needed was something that made her feel “good.”

“Four and a half years ago… I started a friendship with August and we actually became really, really good friends,” she said, adding: “And it all started with him just needing some help, me wanting to help his health, his mental state.”

Jada also addressed suggestions that Will, 51, had granted permission.

“The only person who can give permission in that particular circumstance is myself”.

Jada then added how she could see why August would perceive “permission” having been granted, but the mom to Willow and Jaden set the record straight by adding: “I think he also wanted to make it clear that he’s not a homewrecker, which he’s not.”

The 12-minute interview is still racking up views. 2019 saw “Red Table Talk” rake in 7.5 million views as Jordyn Woods admitted to “kissing” NBA player Tristan Thompson. Her reveal ended Cleveland Cavaliers player Tristan’s relationship with 36-year-old reality star Khloe Kardashian, with the two now co-parenting 2-year-old daughter True Thompson. The show, which debuted in May 2018 and now has a total 62 aired episodes, also earned a 2019 Daytime Emmy nomination, a first for a Facebook show.

The episode also saw Jada confirm that she hasn’t communicated with August in years. “Aug and I haven’t talked in so long,” she said. “You gotta go through some sh*t to get the answers. … I definitely believe you and I, we never thought we would make it back.”
