According to the Turkish emergency authority AFAD, the recent 6.6 magnitude earthquake has injured approximately 800+ people in Turkey. The death toll has now crossed the 20+ mark, including 1 report of a drowned person. As soon as the disaster took place, the concerned authorities took the appropriate actions. Huge Blow To Turkey In Addition To COVID-19 Pandemic
This earthquake was so disastrous that not only it claimed the lives of 800+ identified people, but has also caused huge destruction. It seemed like the COVID-19 pandemic wasn’t enough already that another natural disaster has come into action in Turkey. One miracle came into light recently 30 hours after the earthquake. A 70-year-old man was rescued and taken to the hospital. There have been times, where survivors were recovered hours and days after the disaster, and this was one of them.

The Aftermaths Of Turkey Earthquake
Turkish town Bayrakli was the worst affected town. The anxious families spent another night in the tents with the hope that things will get to normal sooner or later. The rescue workers are still on their hardest duty even on the second day after the earthquake. As time is passing by, the authorities and other people are losing hope of finding and recovering more survivors from the debris. However, one unnamed worker (who doesn’t wish to be named) told that it’s believed that there could be at least 10+ people still buried under a collapsed building.
Turkey Earthquake Changes Nation’s Priorities
More than 6,000 (Six thousand) rescue workers are working constantly all day and night since the disaster. They’re all working to recover as many people as possible from under the debris. In addition to that manpower, several machines such as diggers are still in action. They’re constantly in action to help those workers remove huge blocks of concrete. The workers and machines are put on a halt periodically. This is to keep silent and listen to any signs of someone possibly trapped under the debris. People are saying that it’d be a miracle if anyone is found alive under such unimaginable debris.
There are thousands of tents set up. The officials have told the people not to return to their homes as a measure of safety and precaution. According to the AFAD bulletin, a total of 400+ aftershocks took place in the aftermath of the Turkey’s earthquake. To everyone’s wonder, 33 of them were above 4.0 magnitude on the Richter Scale, which is really scary.

Effects In Nearby Nations
In Greece, two teenagers also died while on their way back home from school. The reason was that the earthquake caused a mini-tsunami on the Greek island, Samos. As a result, a lot of water rushed to the streets making them no less than a river.
This earthquake was so powerful, that even Istanbul and Athens felt the tremors. It was because of this super strong earthquake, that Greece and Turkey kept aside their differences. They came on the same page, and started working together to aid the affected ones.
