
On Tuesday, Tom Hanks urged people to do their part in preventing the spread of coronavirus in his first TV interview on the TODAY show after he battled and recovered from coronavirus.
The 63-years old actor said, “The Idea of doing one’s part should be so simple. Wear a mask, social distancing, wash your hand, your work, your town, your society as a whole, and it’s such a small thing.”
“It’s a mystery to me how somehow that has been wiped out of what should be ingrained in the behavior of us all—simple thing. Do your part,” he added.
The actor regarded as an American cultural icon is an American actor and filmmaker who is famous for his comedies and dramatic roles. Tom is one of the most recognized film stars worldwide and has featured in lots of films and received lots of awards.
Tom Hanks dwelled on the fact that the virus kills, even though the effects and symptoms might not be severe on those affected.
“I think a huge majority of Americans get it,” he said about taking precautions. “There’s no law against ignorance, it’s not illegal to have opinions that are wrong. There is a darkness on the edge of town here, folks. Let’s not confuse the fact, it’s killing people. I don’t know how common sense has somehow been put in question in regards to this.”
In March, the actor and his wife, Rita Wilson, were both tested positive for coronavirus, and they were the first celebrities to announce that they had got the virus, which shocked their fans.
The actor told The Guardian how he and his wife had very different reactions. “My wife lost her sense of taste and smell, she had severe nausea, she had a much higher fever than I did, I just had crippling body aches, I was very fatigued all the time, and I couldn’t concentrate on anything for more than about 12 minutes,” Hanks explained.
Being the lead role of the World War II movie “Greyhound,” Hanks said, “What has lingered here is this societal question really of doing our part. Not everything I say has to be tied to somehow the war effort back during World War II, but there was a sensibility that permeated all of society, which was do your part, we’re all in this together.”
However, the 64 years old man, after he recovered from COVID-19, has been donating plasma in hopes that it would be used for treatment research against COVID-19.
The COVID-19 survivor took to his Instagram page to share photos where he appears to be donating convalescent plasma to help in the fight against Covid-19. Plasma-derived from blood in people.
