Joshua, popularly known as “AJ,” is a professional British fighter and a two-time unified heavyweight champion. He held the championship between 2016 and June 2019 (after he lost a fight to Andy Ruiz), and from December 2019 (when he rematched with Andy Ruiz and won) till date.
Anthony Joshua is the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999, and he holds the WBA, WBO, and IBF belts.
A match between Joshua and his IBF mandatory, Kubrat Pulev, was set to hold at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in June but postponed due to the pandemic. Surprisingly, the Bulgarian, Pulev, wasn’t in the dream list of Joshua’s opponents despite being the second time a match between the two has been cancelled.
