Tekashi 6ix9ine has given a landmark interview. The 24-year-old rapper, real name Daniel Hernandez, was profiled in-depth by The New York Times this week, with his interview covering everything from his music to his gang dealings and 2015 sex scandal with an underage girl.

Tekashi, currently gearing up for the September 4 release of his “Tattle Tales” album, proved candid as he methodically answered questions posed, also revealing that he’d vote for Donald Trump.

In 2015, 6ix9ine pleaded guilty to use of a child in a sexual performance. He filmed a 13-year-old girl and was, as the newspaper put it, “seen in videos miming graphic acts,” also “touching” the underage girl “while she performed sex acts on other men.”

The vibe from the “GOOBA” rapper appeared to be a mixture of deep remorse and confidence.

“Of course. No other celebrity gives back as much as Daniel Hernandez,” he said when asked he felt he’d “atoned” for it. The rainbow rapper, also known for his gang background and for testifying against the Trey Nine gang prior to his most recent prison stint, was then asked how he felt once finding out the girl was just 13.

Tekashi said it “tore” him apart, then adding a “Damn” over his life being “over” once he was in the interrogation room.

The thing with a 13-year-old girl, I was at the wrong place at the wrong time. The justice system makes you feel so guilty for something and they beat it into your head. “You’re not taking responsibility for it!” And the whole time, you’re telling the honest truth. Listen, I went to this place, and these guys brought this underage girl. I’m filming it, uploading it for the masses to see. If you committed a murder, would you upload that Instagram?

Tekashi’s 2015 sex scandal case did see him both sentenced to four years of probation and 1,000 hours of community service. The rapper himself is fresh from his August house arrest end after his two-year New York prison sentence was cut short – coronavirus and the rapper being an asthma sufferer got him out.

6ix9ine then stated he’d admitted to all his wrongs, including the mentioned “guilty to racketeering for 47 years.” It is largely understood that the rapper received a significantly lowered sentence as a result of testifying – it also earned him a snitch nickname.

“When the cops came to get me, I said, what happened? I turned myself in,” Hernandez continued as he spoke of the underage girl dealings.

6ix9ine, these past weeks making headlines for shouting out gang members on Instagram, also addressed his lively and contovertial persona. With statement tattoos, multicolor hair, a vibrant wardrobe, and a very explicit vocabulary, the Latino star appears to be a major attention seeker. When asked if he is addicted to attention, 6ix9ine was happy to admit it’s a yes.

Oh, of course. I love it. I grew up being a nobody. Genuinely, as a kid, I felt like I was just walking invisibly. I never want to feel that way. My goal is to feed me and mine.

6ix9ine also admitted to spending “a lot” right now. His IG has been showing private jets, travels to L.A. and Chicago, plus the rapper spoiling his girlfriend Jade and kitting her out in luxury Gucci with a diamond watch. He signed a $10 million music deal while in prison, though.

Of Trump, Tekashi said: “I don’t think Trump trolls. I think Trump is genuinely Trump. I get compared to Trump every day. But I love Mexican people. I don’t think we’re the same.”
