The United States President, Donald Trump, has returned to the White House to continue his coronavirus’ treatment after a three-night stay in the hospital.
The US President, who is still contagious, removed his mask on the White House’s balcony while posing for pictures.
Mr. Trump compared COVID-19 to the flu on Tuesday, his first morning back in the White House.
He tweeted, “Flu season is coming up! Are we going to close down our Country? No, we have learned to live with it, just like we are learning to live with COVID.”
While the United States remains the worst-hit Country with COVID-19 with over 200,000 deaths and more than 7 million cases, several of the president’s aides and staff have also been tested positive for COVID-19.
However, President Donald Trump left the Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington, DC, on Monday evening after his coronavirus’ treatment.
He was pictured on the Truman Balcony of the White House, removing his protective face mask while giving a thumb-up and a military style salute, after a short helicopter ride from the Medical Center to the White House.
President Trump recorded a video message urging Americans to get back to work.
“You’re going to beat it [coronavirus],” he told them, adding: “We’re going to be out front. As your leader, I had to do that. I knew there’s danger to it, but I had to do it. I stood out front, and led.”
He speculated: “Now I’m better, maybe I’m immune, I don’t know.”
Mr. Trump also made a post on twitter about his return set to stirring music.
Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden said he was happy President Trump seemed to be better now.
But he criticized the president, saying: “Anybody who contracts the virus by essentially saying masks don’t matter, social distancing doesn’t matter, I think is responsible for what happens to them.”
According to US public health guidelines, President Trump should remain in isolation for up to 10 days after symptoms first appear. The White House says the president first started to appear ill on Thursday evening, and later tested positive.
First Lady Melania Trump, senior aides, and several Republican senators have also tested positive.
Mrs. Trump has been isolating at the White House, reportedly with mild symptoms. In a tweet, she said: “I am feeling good [and] will continue to rest at home.”
At least 12 people close to President Trump have been tested positive for coronavirus.
Among those tested positive are former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, Greg Laurie, John Jenkins, Mike Lee, Thom Tillis, Kellyanne Conway, and Kayleigh McEnany.
