The police officer responded to a report of shots fired in Seattle at Cal Anderson Park inside the area mentioned as the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) around 2:30 am last Saturday.
According to a police statement, Seattle police were denied entrance by the violent protesters to reaching out to the shooting victims. The police statement says, “Officers attempted to locate a shooting victim but were met by a violent crowd that prevented officers safe access to the victims. Police said they were later informed that Capital Hill Organized Protests CHOP medics had taken the two victims to hospital.”
Moreover, violent protesters had taken several blocks of Seattle earlier to create an example of what a community can be like without the police, which was referred to as the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ).
The police officers have abandoned their department in the east precinct located in the community (Seattle) after dangerous clashes between the violent protesters and law enforcement.
But President Donald Trump was against the action and wrote in a tweet “Domestic Terrorists have taken over Seattle, run by Radical Left Democrats, of course. LAW & ORDER!”
The community displays images and signs; “You are now entering free Cap Hill,” at the entrance, “Seattle People Department East Precinct,” at the abandoned police department. Protesters described the Autonomous zone as a safe and peaceful place with a small garden, medic station, smoking area, and a “No Cop” area.

More so, the police officers later released the video footage of the shooting incident where they were denied entrance.
The video shows at eight officers entering the area as protesters yelled at them, “Please move out of the way so we can get to the victim. All we are trying to do is get the victim and provide them aid.”
A protester shouted, “Put your f****8 gun downs.” Another said, “You don’t belong here, they’re gone, the victim is gone.”
The policemen eventually left, as the public continues to yell at them.
Some protesters expressed their sadness at the shooting. A man told the media, he appealed for those responsible for the shots to give themselves up to the police.
He said, “Turn yourself in, because if you don’t… its better than the police get hold of you than they do.”
Furthermore, Seattle’s mayor told a news conference on Monday the city police department would return to its precinct “peacefully and in the near future.” Also, there would be an end to the so-called Capitol Hill Occupied Protest Zone.
Mayor Jenny Durkan said the violence had become “increasingly difficult” for businesses and residents.
