Nicki Minaj’s Brother Sentenced to 25 years Jail-Term

On Monday, 27th of January, 2019, Jelani Maraj was sentenced to jail by Judge Robert McDonald in the Nassau County Court.

As a defendant, Maraj was found guilty of predatory sexual assault against a child and endangering the welfare of the child in 2017. These charges were merged with his other accusations that Maraj sexually abused his former stepdaughter.

Maraj and his attorney are planning to appeal the judgment and come out with evidence to prove him innocent.

Also, recall that from the beginning of the case, Maraj claimed that the sexual assault accusations were put together, and it is propaganda to draw off or to collect money from his multimillionaire and famous sister. However, Judge McDonald explained that “not every misstep by a juror rises to the inherent and prejudicial level at which reversal is required.”

Nonetheless, prosecutors have affirmed that the DNA evidence recovered from the girl’s pajama pants was linked to Maraj.

Be reminded that Maraj was arrested in December 2015.
During the trial, the Victim and the Victim’s brother testified against him.

“The abuse started when I was 11 years old between April and November 2015. When my mother was at work, and Maraj always called me “puppet.” The Victim said.

The Victim’s brother also testified, saying, “I saw Maraj touching my sister in the bedroom while they were partially clothed.” This made the investigations intensify, which eventually resulted in the arrest of Maraj.

Nicki failed to testify in the court during the trial after Maraj’s defense team claimed that she would testify.
