Joe Biden Confirmed Has the Democratic Presidential Nominee

The former vice president, Joe Biden, has won enough delegates to become the Democratic presidential nominee to take on Trump of the Republican Party in November’s presidential election.

Joe Biden, who has been the presumptive Democratic nominee since Vermont Senator, Bernie Sanders withdrew in April.

According to Biden on Twitter, his electoral victory in Guam on Saturday enables him to secure 1,991 delegates needed to win the Democratic nomination and claim it in the first ballot of the party’s convention set to be held in August.

Joe Biden, an American politician and a member of the Democratic Party, has represented Delaware in the U.S Senate and served as the 47th vice president of the United States from 2009 to 2017.

The 78 years old man, after his electoral victory, said in a statement, “A little more than three months ago I stood on stage in South Carolina and told the American people that ours was a campaign for everyone who has been knocked down, counted out, and left behind. Those words take on an even greater resonance today, at a time when so many Americans are hurting and have suffered so much loss.”

He further stated: “So many feels knocked down by the public health and economic crisis we are weathering. So many feel counted out and left behind by a society that has for too long viewed them as less than equal, their lives as less than precious.”

He added, “It was an honor to compete alongside one of the most talented groups of candidates the Democratic party has ever fielded — and I am proud to say that we are going into this general election a united party. I am going to spend every day between now and November 3rd fighting to earn the votes of Americans all across this great country so that, together, we can win the battle for the soul of this nation, and make sure that as we rebuild our economy, everyone comes along.”

Mr. Biden won the nomination with seven states — Indiana, Maryland, Montana, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and South Dakota where the presidential primaries were held. He is expected to earn more where the further primary contests will hold coming Tuesday.

Joe Biden was endorsed by former President Obama in April, saying in a video that Joe Biden had “all the qualities we need in a president right now.”

However, Donald Trump of the Republican and Joe Biden of the Democrats are set to face each other in Presidential election in November.
