Draya Michele is being left with a lot to chew over – and seemingly, major consequences for making controversial comments about Megan Thee Stallion’s shooting. The 35-year-old reality star and Mint Swim founder fronted media outlets recently after joking about “Savage” rapper Megan, who claims she was shot in both feet. Draya’s words, suggesting that shooting is attractive, have left Twitter, and Megan herself, with a sour taste in their mouths.

Draya, a SavagexFenty ambassador alongside 32-year-old Rihanna’s brand’s main summer 2020 face Stallion, now appears to have been dropped by the best-selling underwear line. SavagexFenty has unfollowed Draya on Instagram. It’s also deleted all promotional photos of the “Basketball Wives LA” alum from its social media.

Draya, also a Fashion Nova partner, shot up Twitter trends over the weekend after opening her big mouth while appearing on the “Wine and Weed” podcast. Of 25-year-old Stallion, assumed by many to have been accidentally shot by Canadian rapper Tory Lanez, Draya said:

“I predict that they had some sort of Bobby and Whitney love that, you know, drove them down this snapped-esque type of road. And I’m here for it. I like that. I want you to like me so much that you shoot me in the foot too.”

The storm was near-immediate, especially since “Savage” rapper Megan directly fired back on Twitter.

“That sh*t ain’t f*cking funny who tf jokes about getting shot,” Megan tweeted.

Draya, quickly finding herself canceled by Twitter, with Megan also taking to Instagram saying she was “grateful to be alive,” now sees social media turning against her. The mom of two did not, however, ignore the backlash, issuing an apology. Her July 22 tweet read:

“I truly don’t glorify domestic violence… I was trying to say just love me deeply. But while trying to be funny, I offended many, including meg. And I’m sorry.”

Seemingly, too little, too late. Draya, who also fronts vodka brand Ciroc and is currently promoting her DrayaxOHPOLLYSport collab, appears to have had Rihanna – herself a victim of domestic violence – closing the door on her. SavagexFenty continues its promos with Megan, with the brand also fronted by an array of celebrities including Normani, Kash Doll, Christina Milian, and Lil Wayne’s daughter Reginae Carter.

Megan, who broke down on Instagram as she spoke of the shooting, has also been taking to social media to address violence, writing:

“Black women are so unprotected & we hold so many things in to protect the feelings of others w/o considering our own. It might be funny to y’all on the internet and just another messy topic for you to talk about but this is my real life and I’m real life hurt and traumatized.”
