Donald Trump Was Described as 'Just Plain Wrong' by Raffensperger After the Election Called

Donald Trump alleged phone call with Mr Raffensperger pressuring the election official to find votes verifying his victory serves as the origin for the aforementioned description.

There has been a widespread fuss over President Trump’s call, with several people insisting that it equals illegal vote tampering.

“Trump’s hour-long phone call fact-checked” Why is the Georgia election so important? “He did most of the talking. We did most of the listening,” Mr Raffensperger told ABC News on Monday. “But I did want to make my points that the data that he has is just plain wrong.”

Mr Raffensperger was on the call for almost an hour with President Donald Trump and his team on Saturday, and the call, turned into audio, was released and publicized by the Washington Post on Sunday.

On Monday, Mr. Raffensperger explained to reporters that he was not aware that the call is being recorded, and further stressed that he talked to President Donald Trump from his home.

“He [Mr. Trump] had hundreds and hundreds of people he said that were dead that voted. We found two, that’s an example of just – he has bad data,” he added.

Gabriel Sterling, who holds Georgia state’s voting systems implementation manager’s position, explained to the media during Monday’s news conference that Mr Trump’s assertion was easily provably false. He also rued the ridiculousness of the Trump call to Mr Raffensperger.

Mr. Sterling, in his talks, claimed that President Donald Trump’s behavior was weakening the Georgians’ confidence in the election process and implored the citizens to vote in Tuesday’s election.

“Everybody’s vote is going to count,” he asserted.

What transpired on the call?

President Donald Trump’s voice can be heard during the call cajoling Georgia’s secretary of state to recalculate the vote tally.

“I just want to find 11,780 votes,” he told the official. The digit would surely result in his total number of 2,473,634 votes in the state, one more than Democratic President-elect Joe Biden, who received 2,473,633 votes.

President Donald Trump allegedly charged Mr Raffensperger – a fellow Republican – of mincing ballots and committing an illegal act that cost him the US election. He called the erroneous allegations a criminal offence, augmenting that it presents “a big risk to you.”

Mr. Raffensperger reacted by bringing up that President Trump’s campaign has lost numerous lawsuits in a different court tier.

President Donald Trump receives a reply from Mr. Raffensperger that clears the air, and He said, “The challenge you have, Mr. President, is that the data you have is wrong.”
