Donald Trump, a former US president who faces the impeachment process for the second time, is acquitted of inciting mob violence – the capitol hill riots that led to the loss of life of five Americans.
US President Joe Biden has said, “It is a reminder that democracy is fragile.”
Seven Republicans joined Democrats in the house in voting to convict, but it was not up to the two-thirds majority to do so.
US President Joe Biden publicized that the charge about Donald Trump’s role in the Capitol Hill riot last month was not in dispute, and he is ready to move forward from the process.
After he was acquitted, Mr. Trump likened the impeachment to a witch hunt.
The vote cast on Saturday ended in favor of conviction. The Senate trial polled 57 to 43.

Forty-eight Democrats, two Independents, and seven Republicans supported the convict.
President Donald Trump was solely in charge of incitement to insurrection due to the Capitol hill riots by the pro-Trump supporters, which result in the death of five people.
Mr. Trump claims that the election was stolen, and his speech kindled the mob as insisted by his Democratic Prosecutors. Mr. Trump’s lawyers refuted this dissertation that his words amounted to incitement and said the Senate should not try a former president.
It’s very uncommon, and only two former US presidents have been impeached, with Donald Trump the only man facing the process twice.
Reacting to the acquittal, President Biden said: “While the final vote did not lead to a conviction, the substance of the charge is not in dispute.”
“This sad chapter in our history has reminded us that democracy is fragile. That it must always be defended. That we must be ever vigilant. That violence and extremism have no place in America. And that each of us has a duty and responsibility as Americans, and especially as leaders, to defend the truth and to defeat the lies,” he added.
The President’s aides were worried that if they were actively involved in the impeachment process, they might be distracted from their early plan in office and maintained their distance from the process.
In his response to his acquittal, Mr. Trump describes the trial as yet another phase of the greatest witch hunt in our nation’s history.
If he were convicted, he would have been barred from elected office.
“Our historic, patriotic and beautiful movement to Make America Great Again has only just begun,” he said.
Considering Mr. Trump’s statement, it can be deduced that he will continue to take an active part in US politics.
