“So last year, 37,000 Americans died from the common Flu. It averages between 27,000 and 70,000 per year. Nothing is shut down, life & the economy go on,” he wrote on Twitter.
“At this moment there are 546 confirmed cases of CoronaVirus, with 22 deaths. Think about that!”
On Monday, the press secretary to Mr. Trump revealed that Trump is yet to be tested for coronavirus, despite the president having been in contact with people who have self-quarantined over this virus.
She said: “The President has not agreed to COVID-19 testing because he has neither had prolonged close contact with any known confirmed COVID-19 patients nor does he have any symptoms.”
She added: “President Trump remains in excellent health, and his physician will continue to closely monitor him.”
Mr Trump shook hands with one congressman, Doug Collins, who has self-isolated over contact with a confirmed case and rode on Air Force One with another, Matt Gaetz, on Monday.
