According to a BBC report, his long-time agent says he was “well-loved by absolutely everybody,” and family friend Pat lake-smith described him as the ultimate entertainer and further gave in details situation hovering around his death. He made mention that he had been recovering from the fall before his condition had suddenly deteriorated, leading to his death.
She said: “He loved life and was fun to work with – He was talented, fun, positive, enthusiastic kind and professional. She also said he considered enthusiasm almost as important as oxygen.”
His partnership with the comedy duo Morecambe and Wise saw him teased for his singing ability in presentation despite a successful career which included four top hits and more than 30 albums.
His reputation soared after he was contracted to host The Des O’ Connor show which ran on ITV, from 1963 to 1971.
He worked with BBC two, ITV where he hosted Des O’Connor tonight. He later hosted Channel 4 quiz show Countdown with Carol Vorderman.
Des O’Connor, the ultimate entertainer, was married four times, and the end of his first three relationships can be associated with his obsession with work as described by him.
He married his long-time girlfriend Jodie Brooke Wilson in 2007, who was 37 years, his junior, and she birthed their son Adam in 2004.

Des O’Connor has four beautiful and loving daughters, Karin, TJ, Samantha, and Kristiana from his previous marriages.
Tributes have been paid following his death, with Countdown Co-host Vonderman saying “he was a born entertainer and it had been a complete joy to work with him”.
Fellow Countdown star Susie dent described him “as a true gent”. The midwife star Stephen McGann said O’Connor never took himself too seriously”.
Northampton Town Football Club also joined the tributes to their former reserve player.
