COVID-19: More Than 30m People in the UK Receive the First Jab

30 million UK citizens have accessed Covid-19 Vaccine’s first dose as the second dose is scheduled to go round in the next 12 weeks.

The press made inquires about the discrepancies that could be witnessed in the distribution; Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden said, “We always knew there would be ups and downs, but the timetable was on track.”

3.5m adults are recorded to have gotten their second dose of the jab. However, the first Moderna jabs are expected to be on UK soil before the beginning of May.

Moderna is the third Vaccine out of seven that the United Kingdom has place an order for – and a total of 17million doses will be delivered to the UK. The jab is going to be in two doses like the other existing vaccines.

The latest government records clarify that 423,852 UK adults received the first dose of either the Pfizer or the Oxford vaccine on Saturday, taking the overall number to 30,151,287 – with 233,964 having their second dose, summing up to 3,527,481.

On Sunday, 19 people died due to covid-19 complications within 28 days of the positive covid test; 33 deaths were witnessed on the same day last week, coupled with 3,862 cases.

The supply of the Vaccine has been bulky and effective.

During the early days of last month, the NHS declare worries about the noticeable decrease in available jabs in England in April, and there has been a delay to Oxford-AstraZeneca shipments from India. EU concerns were also raised over the supply of jabs.

Nonetheless, Northern Ireland’s First Minister Arlene Foster mentioned that she is hoping the UK releases Covid-19 vaccine doses to the Republic of Ireland in the quest to put an end to the spread of Invention in Northern Ireland. She further explained that the idea was efficient, and she’s going to discuss it with Boris Johnson again.

Speaking to the BBC’s Andrew Marr Show on Sunday, Mr. Dowden said: “We’re on track both with the rollout of the vaccine and the roadmap.”

“You will have seen the ups and downs – we were surging ahead a couple of weeks ago; there’s been a bit of a slow-down now.”

“But that doesn’t undermine our confidence that we will be able to deliver for that crucial group, the over-50s, by the middle of April and then for the rest of the adult population by the end of July.”

Questioned about the availability of the Covid-19 second dose, Mr. Dowden said: “That is essential, and in all our planning throughout this, we have borne in mind that we have to get that second top-up and so we’re confident we will be able to deliver it.”
