A health official told the press that England’s very high Covid-19 infection level is a growing concern at the NHS battles to withstand increasing patient numbers.
On Monday, the United Kingdom reported a total number of 41,385 Covid-19 cases and 357 deaths.
According to NHS England, The highest number of people being treated for coronavirus at a time in hospital during the first wave is about 19,000, which in recent days have been surpassed by the 20,426 patients recorded at the moment.

With surging cases in Wales and Scotland, It is feared that the health officials are the bridge of becoming overpowered.
Monday’s reported new cases happen to be the highest daily number ever reported by the government in Uk, and it’s also the first time the number of reported Covid-19 cases would exceed 40,000.
It is guessed the infection rate was much higher during the first apex in April, but testing capacity was too restricted to detect the actual number.
Some information throughout Christmas is inadequate, stemming from the suspension of certain services.
Hugh Pym, the BBC health editor, reported that Monday’s Covid-19 figure comprised some infections where the reports weren’t given at the right time, but the officials involved did not refute that others had been a substantial rise in infection rate.
Dr. Yvonne Doyle, one of the medical director at Public Health England, said: “This very high level of infection is of growing concern at a time when our hospitals are at their most vulnerable, with new admissions rising in many regions.”
“Despite unprecedented levels of infection, there is hope on the horizon,” she added.
Dr. Doyle encouraged public members to continue to play their part in stopping the spread of the virus, as the Pfizer/BioNTech covid-19 vaccine is rolled out, and everything will be under control.
The announced rise in Covid-19 patients has laid a massive amount of pressure on hospitals’ services in Wales, Scotland, and the south of England.
Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich, south-east London, reportedly said on Monday 26, that an “internal incident” over its “high number of Covid-positive patients” had been growing since the early hours of
Sunday.
“All our patients have received the treatment they need, including intensive care treatment for Covid-19 and oxygen therapy as required.”
“We are continuing to monitor the situation to ensure that this remains the Covid-19 case,” a mouthpiece for Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust said.
