Protests have dominated the past weeks in the United States of America due to the death of George Floyd.
The protests against anti-racism have been going-on all over cities in the US without taking precautions to prevent COVID-19, which resurrected the virus back in the news headlines.
Recently, states in the US have recorded a massive number of coronavirus cases leading to the second wave of the disease. But Vice-President Mike Pence accused the media of using grim prediction to frighten the people of America.
According to a New York Times database, more than 2.3 million people in the United States have been infected with the coronavirus, and more than 120,000 have died.
The pandemic got bad in late March and escalated across the United States, but by May most states were controlling the outbreaks while the virus cases were declining and they had begun to ease restrictions.
However, after the commencement of the solidarity movement of black lives matter – which brings about the protest to shun police brutality and poor treatment of the blacks, the coronavirus cases began to rise again in most regions in the United States.
According to a COVID Tracking Project, the North East region held the record of the area with more cases with about a quarter of all the US cases and more than of all US deaths occurring in the states of New York and New Jersey.

The COVID Tracking Project has furthered discovered Arizona to have more cases on its own than the entire nine-states in North East region.

Hospitalized patients have also risen in Texas and other states, where reopened bars, restaurants and shops are closing again to prevent escalation the virus back.
Moreover, President Donald Trump blames the rising cases on increased testing in the US, telling the Wall Street Journal, he said: “testing is overrated because, in many ways, it makes us look bad.”
The United States has conducted about 25 million tests so far, which explains why it has the highest number of cases in the world.
Amid the fears of the newly discovered cases, the death cases are trending downward at the moment.
The United States has recorded about 120,000 coronavirus deaths – the highest death toll in the world.
