Coronavirus: Dr. Fauci Warns the Senate Against Easing Lockdown

If federal guidelines to reopen the country were not followed, Dr. Fauci said, “little spikes” would become outbreaks.

The US infectious disease doctor, Dr. Fauci, has also given consequences of opening the country soon and assumed the real US death toll is higher than the figure of 80,000 given.

Dr. Fauci, who is a trusted medical figure in the United States, has been one of the lead members of the Trump Administration’s White House Coronavirus Task Force monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States.

He is a physician, an immunologist, and an expert on infectious diseases. Fauci has also been an advisor to every US president since Ronald Reagan.

However, Dr. Fauci spoke via video to a Republic-led committee of the United States’ Senate about his warnings, and he emphasized that the government would not be able to control the outbreak, if school and businesses are allowed to reopen, adding that such outbreak would affect the economy and cause more setback.

The White House’s Opening Up America Again plan includes three 14-day phases of federal guidelines, that urged states to consider implementing the guidelines to allow schools and businesses to reopen.

The federal guidelines are :

1. The face of America’s fight against Covid-19
2. White House staff ordered to wear masks
3. Several states which are restarting their economies have infection rates that are rising, not falling.

“There is no doubt, even under the best of circumstances, when you pull back on mitigation, you will see some cases appear,” Dr. Fauci warned the US officials.

Questioned about the possibility of a rebound in autumn of the virus, Dr. Faucimentioned that it is “entirely conceivable and possible.”

“I hope that if we do have the threat of a second wave, we will be able to deal with it very effectively to prevent it from becoming an outbreak,” he said.

Dr. Fauci also said there are multiple vaccines in development, but “no guarantee” any will be useful. Though, based on his knowledge of other viruses, he is “cautiously optimistic.”

“We have many candidates and hope to have multiple winners,” he said. “In other words, it’s multiple shots on goal.”

According to worldmeters.info, the United States has over 1.9 million confirmed cases, which is also times six as many as any other country and more than 110,000 death cases.

Moreover, Dr. Fauci has warned against reopening the country to prevent more outbreak of the virus, and Fauci warnings are against President Donald Trump’s will of getting the economy to boost again.
