Carrie Underwood’s son near-broke Instagram this week. The “Cry Pretty” singer’s 4-year-old filled out a homework exercise about his mom – 2015-born Isaiah didn’t seem to have cottoned onto the fact that Carrie is a music superstar, also somewhat missing the mark when it came to guessing Carrie’s age – the singer is 36 years old.
Carrie updated her Instagram recently with a photo of a form her son had filled out. Various questions were asked, including how old him mom is, what color her hair is, plus her age and occupation.
This was beyond epic. The form began with Isaiah listing his own name and age (he got that right). His mother’s name was then listed as “Carrie.”
“I think my mom is…” was the next question, with Isaiah listing his mother’s age as “70.” He then went on to add that she likes to eat “salad” before stating that his mom had blonde hair and brown eyes.
Things once again turned hilarious when Isaiah was prompted to list his mother’s job. “My mom’s job is…” was the question, with Isaiah replying: “Wash the laundry.” And it got better. Further down in the form, Isaiah was asked what his mother is “really good at.”
“Folding laundry,” he replied.
There were some adorable moments, though. A sweet response to a gift he’d buy his mother saw the singer’s son reply: “A cake,” with Isaiah also proving accurate when it came to describing what his mother would do if she had time – he replied “ride horses.” Anyone familiar with Carrie’s Instagram will know that she’s big into all things equestrian.
Carrie herself was clearly on the floor laughing, per her caption.
Soooo…apparently I’m 70 and I’m really good at doing the laundry. 🤷♀️😂
Also appearing to find the whole thing hilarious was the American Idol winner’s social media followers.
“Awww I love these!!! And he definitely nailed the job description😂,” one fan wrote.
“Bahahaha” came from fellow country singer Miranda Lambert.
“Tomorrow’s headline: “How Carrie Underwood Makes 70 Look 30″ 😂” was another comment.
The update itself also proved hugely popular overall, racking up over 600,000 likes in two days.
Carrie and husband Mike Fisher are now parents to two children, having welcomed their second son Jacob in January 2019. The family may seem complete, but Carrie’s journey towards becoming a mom of two came tinged with sadness – the star suffered three miscarriages in two years prior to welcoming Jacob.
Speaking to The Guardian about the babies she lost, Carrie admitted that a part of her will always grieve the children that could have been.
“I guess you wait for things to stop hurting at some point,” she began, adding:
“But letting yourself go there … other people that are going through the same thing. It kind of connects you to them. I will always mourn those children, those lives that were a shooting star, a breath of smoke, but I have Jacob, and he is incredible. He is the sweetest little baby. At the time it was awful, and it still hurts, but it’s kind of like ‘OK, I have this.'”
