Capitol Hill Riots: The Hunt to Identify and Arrest the Rioters

Capitol Hill serves as a juncture for several Trump supporters last Wednesday to convey the resentment that was brewed in them following Joe Biden’s victory in the US election, causing chaos in the congress.

Numerous rioters express their rage by defacing the congressional offices, and a laptop was reported stolen by an aide to speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.

Richard Barnett, one of the rioters who was 60-year-old from Gravette, Arkansas who infiltrated Capitol Hill, has been apprehended, and by the information released by the Justice Department Officials, “He was not hard to find”.

Richard Barnett was pictured sitting with one boot disrespectfully on a desk that is at the very center of power at the congress.

The picture is the now-iconic image of the riot. In the picture, Richard was sitting in Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office, with one foot on a desk. He has been indicted with theft of public property, with other relative offenses.

Also, a middle-aged man from Florida was assumed to be the person pictured with the Capitol House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s lectern from the House of Representatives chamber was apprehended on Friday as reported by the Miami Herald. The 36-year-old Adam Christian Johnson is being held on a federal warrant at a Prison in Pinellas County.

More than a dozen citizens have been accused of relative offenses related to the violence that took place on the Capitol Building, as reported by federal law enforcement officials. And there’s going to be some other arrest in the coming hours and days.

The FBI has requested the help of the public, with the investigation ready to deal with all the involved parties.

The Capitol Building rioters could be charged with a different collection of crimes, ranging from trespassing and other relatively minor ones to serious offenses involving firearms and explosive devices. They could be sentenced to many or a few years in prison.

The FBI releases a Wanted Poster with questions to the public if they found any relatable face in the picture.

If yes, the agents will like to hear from you. They put in a huge effort to catch up and bring to justice the citizens who broke into the Capitol building on Wednesday. They are imploring the public to help in resolving the crime.

The Aftermath of the Riot 

● A total of five people were reported dead including one Capitol Police officer.

● The law enforcement agencies have made a total of 82 arrests with Investigators in DC reported to have gotten over 17,000 clues from the public about the Capitol Hill rioters.

● $50,000 (€37,000) is ready to grab for information that leads to the individual that plants pipe bombs at Democratic and Republican party Headquarters.

After the Capitol Hill riot, the FBI also put up a tip hotline and website, which is in regards to how the public will reach them with any clues about the US Congress Intruders.
