Britney Spears is sparking more panic than ever – the latest seeing the 38-year-old’s fans wonder if she even has control over her own Instagram. Britney, who has been under the conservatorship of her father since 2008 with her finances and other aspects of her life fully controlled by others, now sees a new update causing worry.

Britney’s 2020, filled with repetitive and seemingly-sporadic posts showing her shot against a bold red or plain white wall, might have had her 25.1 million followers concerned on a mental health front weeks ago, but the worry has shifted. Fans are now questioning whether the “Toxic” singer is even the one posting her updates.

Monday brought a fresh photo, but the setting and look was anything but. The snap showed Britney looking stunning as she smiled while rocking a floral string crop top and tan shorts. The singer, who has had fans begging all weekend for a “sign” that she’s either ok or not, simply wrote: “GOD BLESS YOU!!!!!”

The comments section has now exploded. The most-liked reply, again begging for a coded sign from the singer, reads: “Wear black shorts in your next post if you’re in trouble.”

Today’s crop top, shorts, and white backdrop has featured multiple times on the star’s Instagram these past weeks. Britney, however, has been maintaining that she is perfectly all-right. Three days ago, the mom of two made headlines for a rare message addressing her fans.

Noted by the singer’s followers was her avoiding what they deemed to be the “most-asked” question recently as a Q&A video showed Britney answering fan questions. She spoke about her favorite vacation destinations mentioning both Hawaii and Turks & Caicos, also admitting that her favorite food is chili dogs. While fans adored getting a little insight into Britney’s favorite things, they felt that she had ignored the level of concern.

“I’m concerned,” one fan wrote today. Another added: “We’re behind you!!!! We support you and we’re getting the clues.”

Britney’s 2000s were marked by a very public mental health spiral alongside an involuntary hold at a psychiatric unit. 2008 marked the start of Britney no longer controlling her finances. While The Los Angeles Times investigating whether Britney has been harmed at the hands of her handlers concluded a “no” in 2018, the singer’s fans have other opinions.
