Twitter Calls Hypocrisy As Meek Mill Defends B. Simone’s Plagiarism Accusations

When it’s trending, you know it matters. Rapper Meek Mill found himself taking #2 slot on Twitter trends this weekend after a series of ‘saving’ tweets came defending rapper, comedian, and “Wild ‘N Out” star B. Simone – the 29-year-old is currently fronting media outlets over allegations that she committed plagiarism with her “Baby Girl: Manifest Your Life” book. Braleyn, who goes by her B. Simone moniker, received major backup from 33-year-old Meek Mill, but Twitter is now slamming the “Dreams and Nightmares” rapper. In short, the platform is remembering the times Meek Mill dissed Drake and accused the Canadian of himself using a ghostwriter.

Meek Mill swooped in to defend B. Simone, tweeting:

“B Simone canceled because she finnesed a book and made her way from the bottom lol what major companies y’all cancel for ripping our culture off? finding ways to display hate towards our own when they start doing good is showing amongst us a lot!”

He added: “N***as rap about selling drugs and a life they didn’t live is that not finessing their own tho? A Louie shirt a stack … a Chanel 5500$ I don’t even think they donate to blacks they number one in our culture … Im just getting confused what we standing for collectively…give me ya point why a girl from where we come from should be canceled because she finnesed a lil bit.. I really wanna know how people really think?”

B. Simone is alleged to have swiped content “word for word” from sites including Pinterest. Her book, featured as part of her 2020 Forbes profile, has been logged as selling 1,000 copies an hour. Here’s what Twitter had to say.

“So Meek Mill defending B Simone but went on full attack on Drake for doing the same thing,” another wrote. A third echoed the thought, writing: “Meek Mill really out here defending B. Simone for plagiarism but mad that Drake had a ghostwriter…Yep, sounds like bullsh*t.

Meek Mill and Drake’s beef dates back to 2015, when Meek Mill accused the “God’s Plan” rapper of not penning his own lyrics, something that Drake publicly addressed during his Apple music radio show, although he didn’t deny the allegations, instead saying that he was “flattered.”

B. Simone herself has been making major headlines of late. The star suggested that she couldn’t date a guy who works a regular 9-5 recently – only the CEO type – which fans felt had a touch of irony given that B. Simone herself started out broke and working a regular job. The star also faced backlash for her silence over George Floyd earlier this month, since broken. B. Simone also runs her B. Simone Beauty brand, promo for which can be seen on her Instagram, followed by 5 million. B. Simone does not appear to have responded to the plagiarism allegations.
