Adele Excited and Terrified to Host Saturday Night Live

Adele made her name in America as a musical guest on SNL in 2008

The Grammy-winning United Kingdom pop star, Adele, announced on her Instagram page that she is so excited and terrified, as she will be hosting the Saturday Night Life and having her favorite U.S. singer-songwriter, H.E.R. as a musical guest.

“Bloooooody hellllll. I’m so excited about this!! And also absolutely terrified! My first ever hosting gig and for S.N.L. of all things!!!!,” she wrote.

“I’ve always wanted to do it as a stand alone moment, so that I could roll up my sleeves and fully throw myself into it, but the time has never been right.” Adele added: “But if there was ever a time for any of us to jump head first into the deep end with our eyes closed and hope for the best it’s 2020 right?”

The 32 years old singer has kept a low profile of herself since her world tour ended early in 2017 after releasing her album “25” in 2015, but rumored has it she has been in the studio making her new fourth album.

However, Adele has been through a break-up with her husband Simon Konecki, and attention has focused on her recent Instagram posts, made it known the star has lost weight.

Adele got her big break in America as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live in 2008 when she appeared alongside the U.S. vice-presidential candidate, Sarah Palin, during the preparation of the United States’ presidential election in 2008.

The event turned out to be one of the most-watched episodes ever. On the eve of another U.S. presidential election, Adele said it feels like her career is about to come full circle.

“It’ll be almost 12 years to the day that I first appeared on the show, during an [U.S.] election… which went on to break my career in America, so it feels full circle and I just couldn’t possibly say no!” she wrote.

Of course, United States’ audiences are familiar with Adele already, after her 2015 album, 25, won album of the year at the Grammys. She tearfully dedicated the award to Beyonce.

Earlier this month, the first episode of the 46th series of the show – hosted by Chris Rock – drew an audience of more than 8 million viewers (according to The Hollywood Reporter).
